Khartoum - A Moroccan plane carrying the first batch of humanitarian aid, dispatched by Morocco upon the orders of HM King Mohammed VI to the flood-stricken population in Sudan, especially in the Khartoum region, arrived on Sunday at the Khartoum airport.
Later in the day, two other planes carrying aid via an airlift ensured by the royal armed forces (FAR) are expected to arrive. Totaling 5 million dirhams, the aid was provided by the Moroccan agency for international cooperation and the FAR.
The aid is made up of consignments of medicines, tents, foodstuff, water bottles, power-driven pumps and electric generators.
The decision by the sovereign to rush humanitarian aid to the flood-hit Sudanese population confirms, once again, Morocco's unwavering, solidarity-based commitment towards brotherly and friendly countries.
Through this royal gesture, Morocco expresses its full solidarity with the brotherly Sudanese population, in these difficult circumstances, and contributes to alleviating the population's sufferings.
