14th OIC Summit Opens in Mecca in the Presence of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, who Represents HM the King

Mecca - The 14th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) opened on Friday evening in Mecca, in the presence of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, who represents HM King Mohammed VI.

Chaired by the Saudi sovereign, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of leaders and representatives of OIC member countries, this Summit examines ways to develop a unified position on current issues and events in the Islamic world.

This Summit, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the OIC, also tackles the latest developments in the Palestinian question, the situation in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia and Afghanistan, in addition to the latest developments related to the attacks by houthi militias on Saudi territories.

It also discusses the issues of terrorism, radicalism, Islamophobia and the rise of the radical right in several Western countries.
