Rabat- Some 30,000 Moroccans living abroad have come back to Morocco in the last three years, as a result of political strife and instability in a number of African and Arab countries.
Minister-delegate for Moroccans living abroad, Abdellatif Maazouz, said Monday, there are also a number of families who decided to return to Morocco, fleeing the economic and financial crisis in some European host countries, including Spain and Italy.
Talking at a meeting of the ministerial committee in charge of the Moroccan community abroad, chaired by head of the government, Abdelilah Benkirane, the minister called for intensified efforts to meet the needs of those former expats who returned home, mainly as regards issues of integrating children and young people in public schools, and higher education, purchase of low-cost housing, medical assistance and support to find jobs and create enterprises.
