HM King Mohammed VI holds talks with custodian of Two Holy Mosques

Riyadh - HM King Mohammed VI on Sunday paid a working and brotherhood visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

 

HM the King, who was accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, held at the royal palace in Riyadh talks with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saoud, in the presence of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Council for political and security affairs, HRH Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, second Crown Prince, second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, the King's Office said in a statement.

 

During this meeting, the two heads of State expressed their pride in the depth of sincere brotherhood, fair cordiality and mutual esteem ties uniting them personally and the two royal families, as well as their satisfaction with the distinguished level reached by the relations of fruitful cooperation and active solidarity between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

They also stressed their strong determination to continue coordination and joint action to strengthen these privileged relations and hoist them to a strategic partnership in various fields to serve the best interest of the two brotherly peoples.

 

On this occasion, HM King Mohammed VI reiterated the full and absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in its quest to defend the unity of its territory, preserve the Holy Places of Islam and face any attempt to threaten peace and security in the entire region.

 

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reiterated the constant position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supporting the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara, as an integral part of the territorial sovereignty and the national unity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

 

These meetings have confirmed the convergence of views of the leaders of the two countries on various regional and international issues of common interest, notably the latest developments in the Arab and Islamic region and stressed the need to step up efforts to find lasting solutions to the conflicts faced by some Arab countries to dedicate themselves to the defense of the Palestinian issue, which is the basis of peace in the Middle East and the key to stability in the region.

 

HM the King reiterated Morocco's solidarity and support to the initiatives undertaken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to preserve legitimacy in Yemen and avoid the region the impact of foreign interference.

 

The two leaders underlined their commitment to support all initiatives aimed at finding a solution to the Syrian crisis to end the bloodshed and suffering of the Syrian people so as to meet their aspirations for security and stability in accordance with the resolutions of the Arab League and the United Nations.

 

The two leaders also expressed their support to the international efforts to fight terrorism and ISIS and restore security and stability in the brotherly Iraq, in a symbiosis between all components of the Iraqi people, according a multidimensional participatory approach that musters the fight against extremism, terrorism and fundamentalist ideologies and through the promotion of development, within the framework of the national and territorial integrity of this country.

 

The two heads of State also stressed the need to settle the tense situation in Libya through dialogue, participation and involvement of all components of the Libyan people, to which Morocco is committed through hosting Skhirate talks.

 

Both leaders expressed their commitment to joint Arab action to strengthen the foundations of security and stability, achieve sustainable development in the Arab region and promote cooperation and solidarity, within the framework of the respect of the sovereignty of States and their national and territorial integrity.

 

On this occasion, the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques hosted a luncheon in honor of HM the King and the delegation accompanying the Sovereign.
