Date : 15 07 2014

Rabat - The Imam of the Al-Aqsa mosque and vice-president of Al-Quds Islamic supreme authority, Sheikh Youssef Salama Jomaa, hailed the support provided by King Mohammed VI to the Palestinian people and their fair cause.

The support of HM King Mohammed VI to the Palestinian cause demonstrate perfectly the leading role of Morocco, its King, its Government and its people, Sheikh Salama told the press.

He welcomed, in this regard, the recent decision of the Sovereign to extend an urgent humanitarian aid, worth USD 5 million, to the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip and give access to medical care and treatment in Morocco to those wounded as a result of the Israeli aggression which left several martyrs, hundreds of wounded and considerable material damage.

The former Palestinian minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs also hailed the constant support of HM the King, the government and the people of Morocco to the Palestinian people, recalling the continued solidarity of Morocco with the Palestinians, particularly during the Israeli assaults against the Gaza Strip back in 2009 and 2012 by opening an air bridge and setting up a Moroccan field hospital in Gaza.
