Maroc Export participates in the first edition of the International Fair of Riyadh

From the 22nd to the 25th of June 2014 at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre of Riyadh in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in order to promote the Moroccan various sectors of activities in the Gulf countries, Maroc Export will participate in the first edition of the International Fair of Riyadh, to be held from the 22nd to the 25th of June, 2014 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the aegis of His Majesty King Abdallah Ben Abdelaziz Al-Saoud.

 

Mohamed Abbou, Delegated Minister to the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy in charge of Foreign Trade, will chair the Moroccan delegation composed of 15 Moroccan companies representing sectors of construction and building materials,electricity and electronics, pharmaceuticals, automotive, home textiles, and information technology and communication and luxury craftsmanship. Maroc Export reserved for this purpose a pavilion of 200 sqm for the exhibition of thenational productive potential in a context reflecting the Moroccan architecture.

 

The International Fair of Riyadh is positioned as a flagship event in the Middle East and constitutes a meeting platform between professionals from the Gulf Cooperation Council. Besides the commercial aspect, this event is institutionally characterized through the organization of conferences and workshops related to economic issues. 

 

This business mission is an opportunity for Moroccan companies to meet decision-makers of major Saudi companies and those of Gulf countries. By organizing BtoB meetings, its core objective is to put forward potential advantages, multi-sectorial Moroccan assets andhighlight the development attained by the Kingdom of Morocco on both economic and trade levels in strategic markets of the GCC.

 

On the other hand, the Moroccan participation in this edition aims to achieve a common goal, to promote the various sectors represented at the Fair and by the same token showcase the Moroccan multi-sectorial assets. 

 

The Moroccan-Saudi Business Council of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises in collaboration with Maroc Export have organized the first edition of the Morocco -Saudi Arabia Investment Forum held from the 4th to the 6th of June 2014. The Forum was attended by 300 Saudi businessmen and investors through a BtoB platform in order to connect participants with their respective counterparts. The Saudi delegation was chaired by the Saudi Minister of Industry and Trade.

 

In fact, the fraternal relations and economic partnerships between Morocco and Saudi Arabia have known through 2013, a real recovery, evidenced by many visits exchanges and meetings at the highest level between the responsible of both countries, which opened new horizons for Saudi and Moroccan economic operators. Moroccan exports to Saudi Arabia recorded a turnover of 486 million dirhams in 2013. The trade exchanges between Saudi Arabia and Morocco exceed 7 billion $ since 2014. Saudi Arabia is the 15th largest world exporter and trade accounts for over 80% of its GNP. The trade balance of the country, structurally superfluous, fluctuates with oil prices and global demand.

 

Moreover, to further strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries the new maritime line between Jeddah and Casablanca aims toopen new horizons for all operators of the Arabian Peninsula and enabletheir counterparts to consolidate their presence in the promising market of the Gulf.
