Beijing - Foreign minister, Salaheddine Mezouar held talks Wednesday in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on ways to promote a strong strategic partnership with China.

During this meeting, the minister noted that Morocco aspires to launch a strategic partnership with China that covers the fields of investment, development, security, culture and technology.

Morocco also seeks to maintain ties with China that have a "positive influence on regional development," noted the minister, adding that the upcoming visit of HM King Mohammed VI in China will be an opportunity to "open this partnership towards new prospects and new sectors."

Mezouar also expressed condolences to the Chinese president and people following the terrorist attack that has recently targeted civilians in the region of Xinjiang, expressing the condemnation of Morocco of terrorism and all forms of violence.
