
Rabat - The foreign ministers of the Arab Maghreb Union's member countries, which held here on Friday its 32nd session, urged for collectively taking on trans-borders security threats in the region.
In the final statement, the AMU council stressed the need to consolidate security cooperation and intensify collective efforts to face challenges through joint security policies.
The session also expressed satisfaction for measures taken by Libya to establish state of justice and the rule of law, actions taken by Tunisia for the success of its transition process and the reconciliation agreement signed last April between the Palestinian factions of Hamas and Fatah.
The AMU foreign ministers council also expressed solidarity with the Syrian people, calling for an end to bloodshed and for supporting efforts by the UN and Arab League special envoy to find a political settlement to the Syrian crisis that would guarantee national unity and the integrity of the Arab country's territory.
