Date : 05 02 2014

Rabat - The German-based International Foundation for Research in Neuroscience (International Neurobionic Foundation) awarded its 2014 prize to Professor Abdeslam El Khamlichi, director of the Rabat International Reference Centre for the training of Young African Neurosurgeons.

The Award giving ceremony took place on January 18 in Hannover (Germany) in the presence of 750 members of the Neurobionic Foundation, eminent researchers and professors in neuroscience representing different countries around the world, the Centre announced on Tuesday.

This prize was awarded to Morocco in recognition of its efforts in hosting, support, and training of African doctors in neurosurgery through the International Training Centre of Rabat established in 2002 and which provides two types of training, the same source said.

The Center offers a training of 2-5 years, depending on the level of candidates (more than thirty African neurosurgeons already trained from fourteen sub-Saharan African countries), and professional training sessions with courses and annual workshops attended each year by an average of 100 neurosurgeons from all African countries.
