
Bamako - His Majesty King Mohammed VI arrived late Tuesday afternoon in Bamako for an official visit to the Republic of Mali, the first leg of an African tour that will take the Sovereign to Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea Conakry and Gabon.
On arrival to Bamako Senou International Airport, the Sovereign was greeted by Malian President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta.
His Majesty the King was then greeted by Malian Foreign Minister, Zahabi Ould Sidi Mohamed, the governor and the mayor of the district of Bamako, and the Malian ambassador to Morocco.
The Sovereign was also greeted by Malian prime minister, Oumar Tatam Ly, speaker of the National Assembly, Issaka Sidibé, the members of the Malian government, as well as the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Bamako, the Chief of Staff and senior officers of the Malian army.
The Malian President was greeted by the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the King.
His Majesty the King was also welcomed by ambassador of Morocco to Mali, Hassan Naciri, the members of the Moroccan diplomatic mission, the representatives of the Moroccan community in Mali, the representatives of the Moroccan institutions located in Bamako, as well as several Malian religious leaders.
The motorcade headed to the residence of His Majesty the King amid the cheers and ovations by many citizens of the two countries who came to welcome the Sovereign.
The royal delegation includes the Sovereign's advisors Taib Fassi Fihri and Fouad Ali El Himma, as well as minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, minister of Habous and Islamic affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, Economy and Finance minister, Mohamed Boussaid, Agriculture and Fisheries minister, Aziz Akhannouch, Equipment, Transport and Logistics minister, Aziz Rebbah, Industry, trade, Investment and digital economy minister, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, health minister, El Houceine El Ouardi, Energy, Mining, Water and Environment minister, Abdelkader Amara, Tourism minister, Lahcen Haddad and Youssef Amrani, chargé de mission at the Royal office.
A business and economic executive delegation and other civil and military figures are also part of the Sovereign's delegation.
