
Morocco Regrets Algerian Shooting At Moroccan Check Point And Asks For Explanations
Rabat / Morocco's ambassador in Algeria contacted the Algerian competent authorities to express regrets and ask for explanations over circumstances of shootings at a Moroccan check point along the Moroccan-Algerian borders, says a release of the Moroccan ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation.
The Moroccan interior ministry said Algerian soldiers opened fire on Monday afternoon at Morocco's checkpoint of Ait Jormane, in the northeastern province of Figuig,
The foreign department release added that the Moroccan ambassador stressed the need to shoulder responsibility in accordance with international laws and conventions and neighborliness rules to avoid recurrence of this type of incident.
