Ouaddar and Bennani Smires, moroccan riders, took second and third spots at Al Ain showjumping event

Al Ain: Jorge Naeve of Germany warmed up for the main Emaar Grand Prix on Friday with a resounding victory on Conjurer in the CSI 2-star Al Ain Grand Prix Qualifier at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club on Thursday.

 

 

Naeve rode a clear round to clock 70.87 seconds on the eight-year-old grey gelding in the table against the clock. Abdullah Al Sharbatly of Saudi Arabia on board Sultan and Tina Lund of Denmark on Butter Flay were second and third respectively.

 

Shaikha Latifa Bint Ahmad Bin Juma Al Maktoum on New Jimmy’s finished fourth as Al Sharbatly of Saudi Arabia took the honours in the two-phase CSI 5-star Longines Welcome Challenge on Cantho Z.

 

The World Equestrian Games silver medallist rode two clear rounds on the 14-year-old bay gelding to clock 51.87 seconds. Michel Hecart of France on Nokia de Brekka (54.26) was second and Marion Hughes of Ireland astride Crispien (55.98) third in the field of 30.

 

Hughes won the Emaar speed against the clock with a flawless round aboard the 13-year-old chestnut mare Heritage HHS Fortuna. Abdul Khabeer Ouaddar on Quickly de Kreisker and Abdul Salam Bennani Smires astride Mowgli Des Plains, both from Morocco, took second and third spots.
