HM The King Mohammed VI, chairs religious evening in Marrakech in commemoration of Eid Al-Mawlid Annabaoui Asharif

Marrakech - His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, chaired, Monday after the prayer of al Maghrib, at Abi Al-Abbas Sebti mosque in Marrakech, a religious evening in commemoration of Eid al-Mawlid Annabaoui Asharif.


This religious evening was marked by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and panegyrics of the Prophet PBUH.

   

On this occasion, Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, presented before HM the King the assessment report of the Ulema Higher Council and Local Councils.

   

The minister noted that the institution of Imarat Al Mouminine refers in its management of religious affairs to a number of foundations that respect the sharia while opening up on the values of modernity.

   

The Moroccan model of managing religion affairs, he added "promotes the emergence of an exemplary Muslim society, a pluralistic society based on two beliefs, namely fostering of the place religion in life with all that implies, and promoting a spiritual education rejecting all forms of hatred in religion."

   

After that, HM the King handed out the Mohammed VI award of merit in Islamic Thoughts and Studies to Mr. Abderrahmane Taha  who presented to the Sovereign some of his work.

   

His Majesty the King was then greeted by Mr. Omar Ben Anwar Ibrahim Ben Nabraoui (Saudi Arabia) who was awarded, by the sovereign, the Mohammed VI international Award for Memorization, Declamation and Exegesis of the holy Quran.

   

The Monarch handed Mr. Nafie Mohammed Jalal Abderrahmane Dib (Egypt) the Mohammed VI international Award for Psalmody of the holy Quran, with memorization of five "ahzab".

   

HM the King also gave the Mohammed VI Award in Moroccan calligraphy to Mohamed Sabri (Fez) who presented to the Sovereign one of his books and a Moroccan calligraphy painting.

  

He also handed the Mohammed VI Award of Excellence in Moroccan calligraphy to Mohamed El Asri (Casablanca).

   

His Majesty the King was then greeted by Mr. Abderrahim Kouline, calligraphy teacher at the Academy of Traditional Arts of the Foundation of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, who presented the Sovereign a painting of Moroccan calligraphy.

   

HM the King was also greeted by the jury of the Mohammed VI of Islamic Thought and Studies Award, Professors Mohamed Kettani, Mohamed Yssef, Abdelhadi Tazi, who presented the Sovereign one of his books, Mohamed Mokhtar Ould Bah, Mustapha Ben Hamza, Driss Khalifa, Ahmed Chahlane, and Ahmed Kostass (rapporteur for the jury).

   

On this occasion, Mr. Ahmed Toufiq presented to HM the King a DVD entitled "Anfas Maghariba Fi Assalat Ala Al Annabi Sala Allah Alayhi Wa Salam", prepared by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and produced by the Mohammed VI Holey Quran Channel.

The religious ceremony was attended by the Head of Government, the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, Advisors to His Majesty the King, members of government, presidents of constitutional bodies, senior officers of the Royal Armed Forces, members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to Rabat, and other civil and military personalities.
